Hello dear friends, my name is Svitlana Sopit and I am an athlete from Ukraine!

Just as my athletic journey was reaching its peak, war shattered my world. The conflict in Ukraine forced me to leave everything behind, seeking safety far from home.

The war has taken so much, and funding for athletes in Ukraine has dwindled drastically. For the past three years, I've had to rely solely on my own resources to continue my journey, and it's become a constant struggle. With many international competitions held outside of Europe, the financial burden grows heavier with each passing day.

International season consists of 8 main tournaments, each competition offers the opportunity to accumulate points based on the level of the event, the number of competitors, and a fencer's finish. The higher the competition, the more points are awarded, and consistent high placements can significantly improve a fencer's global ranking. Achieving a top ranking opens doors to more prestigious events, funding opportunities, and the chance to represent one’s country at major international championships, including the Olympics.

As a Ukrainian athlete in fencing, every step I take is fueled by a deep love for my country and a desire to inspire others with strength and resilience. To continue competing and representing Ukraine, I need your help. The funds raised will go directly to covering the costs of fencing competitions, which are essential for my growth and development in the sport.
