Calvin Rezende

Everybody has a story; mine is nothing but overcoming internal and external battles though hard work and always staying optimistic. 
 

My experience as a male gay athlete going through top D1 universities (University of Virginia & Saint Francis University, pa), professionally (North American Soccer League & USL Championship), as well as internationally (Villaverde:Spain, Crotone:Italy) gives me great insight into the strong emotions and struggles we go through in (unfortunately) still a predominantly homophobic culture. 
 

With my image and success as a player and overall athlete, I can instill strength, confidence, security, and eventually help LGBTQ+ athletes find inner peace to those going through the same or similar. I am currently playing in the Rainbow League in Ft Lauderale. I won with my twin brother the first year we played and currently onto playoffs this season. I am part of a beach soccer team that my twin brother co-founded. It is based in south Florida. This team has a handful of active USA national team players. 

I would love the opportunity to be an image for my community and in turn support my teams efforts to grow.
